Payment Gateway Integration: Secure Processing Form Integration
As a merchant using the Instabill Payment Gateway, you can select from two methods of how you want your programs to communicate with ours-- or Secure Processing Form. The Secure Processing Form method of payment gateway integration shifts the responsibility of gathering payment information from you to Instabill. We do all the work to collect payment information while keeping the cardholder data safe and secure.
Here's how Secure Processing Form integration works:
- Your customer views their shopping cart on your server and clicks on the Checkout button.
- This brings them to our secure server where the Instabill Payment Gateway gathers your customer's credit card information through our secure payments page.
- When your customer clicks the Submit Order button, their information posts to the Instabill Payment Gateway.
- We send out the purchase request to either approve or deny the transaction, and then send you a quick XML-based response.
- The Instabill Payment Gateway displays the results page to your customer while redirecting them back to your website.
Secure Processing Form and Direct Post both come integrated into the Instabill Payment Gateway. All you need to do is decide what avenue you want to take when communicating your applications with the payment gateway.
API: Application Programming Interface
Application Programming Interface (or API) is a set of codes that dictates how one program will ask another program to perform a task. It is a common language the two programs speak so they can clearly communicate with each other. Instabill has two types of API--one for Secure Processing Form integration and another for . Secure Processing Form and Direct Post are two different types of integration, so they each need their own API.
